Kośminek

Kośminek is a residential neighbourhood in Lublin extending along the right side of Władysława Kunickiego Street and the Czerniejówka River. The district is bordered by Droga Męczenników Majdanka Street and railway tracks, with a local primary school and various shops serving the community.

The neighbourhood was named after Michał Kośmiński, who built a steam mill in 1861 and planned a worker settlement with homes and a city park. The area's development accelerated when Lublin's first power plant was constructed between 1927 and 1928.

The neighbourhood preserves many pre-war single-family homes that show how residential areas developed in early 20th century Lublin. These buildings shape the character of the streets and reflect how people lived during that period.

The neighbourhood is well connected by public transportation and has school facilities along with local shops for everyday needs. The area is walkable and offers the typical infrastructure you would find in an established residential zone.

The area housed Lublin's first power generation facility, built between 1927 and 1928, which later evolved to serve as a combined heat and power station. Few visitors realise this industrial foundation was crucial to the city's modernisation.
