Saint Anne church in Tarnowskie Góry

Saint Anne Church is a church building with neo-Gothic design in Tarnowskie Góry, Poland. The structure stands out for its detailed stonework, tall spires, and numerous stained glass windows that fill the interior with colored light.

Construction was completed between 1617 and 1619, with Jakob Gruzelka as the main founder who initiated the project. The building originally served the Protestant community under the name Jakoskirche before its religious role changed.

The interior features an 18th-century altar painting showing Saint Anne teaching the Virgin Mary. Outside, preserved epitaphs on the walls tell stories of people who worshipped here long ago.

Visitors can admire the building from outside or attend services held throughout the week. The location is easy to reach on foot and sits in the town center where you can explore nearby streets.

During the interwar period, the building served as a chapel for soldiers of the 3rd Uhlan Regiment and 11th Infantry Regiment. This military connection adds an overlooked layer to the site's history that many visitors miss.
