Saint Anne church in Warsaw-Wilanów

Saint Anne church is a brick building with a prominent dome located in Warsaw's Wilanów neighborhood, displaying neoclassical design. The site includes surrounding gardens where fourteen terracotta sculptures depicting stations of Christian prayer are arranged for visitors to walk through.

The site originated in the 14th century as a wooden chapel dedicated to a different saint before being reconstructed in brick during 1772. This rebuilding marked the beginning of the structure that stands today.

The church served the local community through centuries as a spiritual gathering place, with its interiors enriched by religious artworks added during the late 1700s and early 1800s. These paintings and decorative elements reflect how residents and artists contributed to making this space meaningful for worship.

During foundation excavations, workers discovered fossil remains of a prehistoric animal, with bones now kept inside the church building. This discovery connects the site's history to a much earlier period of the earth's existence.
