Poster Museum at Wilanów, Art Museum in Poland

The Muzeum plakatu w Wilanowie is an art museum dedicated to posters and graphic design in Warsaw. The collection contains more than 55,000 works from Poland and many other countries, spanning from the late 1800s to today and displaying diverse artistic styles and techniques.

The museum was founded in 1968 and was the first institution in the world dedicated entirely to artistic posters. It was established in a former riding arena from the 1800s and is now part of the National Museum in Warsaw.

The museum is situated in Wilanów, a historic district with palace grounds and gardens that create a distinctive setting for the visit. It demonstrates how poster art has shaped visual communication and reflected social messages across different periods and cultures.

The museum is located in a quiet area of Wilanów where you can explore the well-lit galleries at a relaxed pace. Plan enough time to take in the variety of works, and if interested, you can also visit the nearby palace grounds and gardens.

The museum hosts an international poster exhibition every two years that brings together more than 2,000 works from artists around the world. This event has established itself as a major forum for contemporary graphic design and artistic innovation.
