Bronisław Malinowski Bridge, Steel bridge in Świecie County, Poland
This steel bridge crosses the Vistula River and was built to handle both road and railway traffic across the waterway. Its structure uses multiple spans arranged to accommodate the river's width and the engineering demands of the period.
Construction started in 1876 and finished in 1879, but the structure suffered severe damage during World War II. The complete reconstruction took place after the war and restored the crossing for regional transport.
The bridge bears the name of Bronisław Malinowski, an Olympic champion from the region who died in a car accident on this bridge in 1981.
The crossing is accessible to pedestrians, vehicles, and trains without special restrictions and serves daily traffic needs. The structure remains open for all modes of transport throughout the day.
The bridge underwent a complete demolition between 1945 and 1947, with Mostostal company leading the reconstruction that finished in August 1951.
