Most na zaporze, Planned bridge construction in Wawer district, Warsaw, Poland
Most na zaporze is a planned bridge crossing the Vistula River in eastern Warsaw, intended to connect Wawer with more central districts. The design features a suspension structure with a pylon approximately 115 meters tall spanning across the river valley.
The bridge concept originated in the 1980s as part of a dam initiative on the Vistula River. It was developed to connect Wilanów and Międzylesie through a new crossing over the river.
The bridge will link eastern residential areas more directly with central Warsaw, supporting growth in those neighborhoods. It becomes part of daily routes that many residents and travelers might use to cross the river.
The planned bridge route runs between Augustówka Street and Jana III Sobieskiego Street through residential neighborhoods. The route will connect with central traffic networks but requires local detours during construction periods.
Construction plans involve reusing parts of the dismantled Syrena Bridge as a temporary crossing during the building phase. This recycling approach allows existing structures to serve a new purpose rather than requiring entirely new materials.
