Muzeum Miasta Łodzi

The building was constructed in the late 19th century as a residence for textile manufacturer Izrael Poznański, who drove Łódź's industrial development. This factory owner became closely associated with the city's growing textile industry.

The Panteon Wielkich Łodzian displays rooms dedicated to notable Łódź figures such as pianist Artur Rubinstein and writer Julian Tuwim. Visitors can see personal belongings and works of these important city personalities in their own dedicated spaces.

The museum offers permanent exhibitions on city history accessible through guided tours available in multiple languages. Visitors should allow sufficient time to explore all floors and fully experience the collections.

The museum preserves the Lustrzana Room with its remarkable collection of mirrors and the oriental room featuring original wall decorations and period furniture. These interiors offer a direct glimpse into how wealthy industrialists of the city once lived.
