Museum of Railway in Silesia

The Museum of Railway in Silesia displays over 150 railway vehicles including locomotives and passenger carriages on a property spanning about 2 hectares with technical buildings. The collection presents different types and generations of rail equipment arranged in open-air and covered exhibition areas.

The site originally functioned as a locomotive depot established in 1908, serving as an important industrial center in the Silesia region for many decades. The museum was founded in 2004 to preserve the industrial heritage of this historic facility.

The collection includes recreated railway office spaces from different periods, showing how workers carried out their daily tasks in these historic environments. Walking through them gives a sense of how everyday work life unfolded in the railway administration.

The museum offers weekend excursions in historic carriages pulled by vintage locomotives, providing an experience of traditional rail travel. Plan to walk around the grounds in comfortable shoes, and visit on dry days when the open-air areas are most enjoyable.

The collection includes locomotives from four countries - Germany, Poland, America, and Britain - manufactured between the 1880s and 1970s. This international gathering shows how railway technology evolved differently across various regions and eras.
