Park on Wolności Hill, Bydgoszcz

Park on Wolności Hill is a green space situated on elevated ground, with rectangular pathways connecting different sections across its terrain. The elevation above the Brda river valley creates varied views and distinct zones throughout the site.

The park was created between 1911 and 1913 using existing forest land as its foundation. A notable tower structure that stood here was removed in 1928, changing the park's appearance.

The Cemetery of Bydgoszcz Heroes occupies a section of the park and serves as a solemn reminder of residents who perished during the Nazi occupation. Visitors walking through this area encounter a quiet, reflective space that honors those lost.

The park can be entered from multiple points along nearby streets, with stairs and pathways connecting the lower and upper sections. The terrain slopes noticeably, so wear comfortable walking shoes to navigate the different elevations.

Two protected natural monuments grow within the park: an English oak and a horse-chestnut tree, both notable for their unusually thick trunks. These ancient trees are among the most distinctive natural features visitors encounter.
