Pomnik spadochroniarzy pod Sokołowem

The monument features four bronze figures of paratroopers armed with weapons, including one soldier folding a parachute canopy. The sculpture stands along Voivodeship road 182 in the Annogóra forest area.

The memorial commemorates paratroopers of the Polish Independent Special Battalion who landed at this location on September 7, 1944. This operation was part of efforts to support the Polish resistance during World War II.

The monument honors ordinary people who risked everything to help resistance fighters, with a plaque commemorating two locals who died for their assistance. Their sacrifice shaped how this place is remembered in the community.

The memorial is easily accessible directly from Voivodeship road 182 and sits in a quiet forest setting without major facilities. The location works best as a stop during a drive or a walk through the surrounding woodland area.

In 2015, vandals damaged the monument by removing the heads of three soldier figures and completely removing the fourth statue. The damage remains visible as a reminder of how historical monuments can be harmed.
