Przylasek Rusiecki

Przylasek Rusiecki is a recreation area with fourteen water reservoirs formed from former gravel pits that offer various water activities. The lakes have natural shorelines and provide spaces for swimming, fishing, and outdoor relaxation.

The site originated from a gravel pit that supplied building materials for Nowa Huta district during the 1950s and 1960s. Once extraction stopped, the area gradually transformed into a recreation zone managed for public use.

The site connects visitors to local traditions through its natural setting, which shaped how people in this region lived and worked. The landscape tells a story of generations who made their living from the land and water.

The site has parking areas, changing rooms, restrooms, and roughly one kilometer of piers for water access. Visitors should come during daylight hours when facilities are open and wear proper footwear, as paths around the lakes can be uneven.

The water basins came from a gravel pit that once supplied building material for the entire nearby city, completely transforming the area. Today these lakes support diverse wildlife and plant life that is uncommon to find near a large urban center.
