John Paul II Monument in Szczecin, Bronze memorial statue in Jasne Błonia, Szczecin, Poland.

The John Paul II Monument in Szczecin is a bronze sculpture standing in the center of Jasne Błonia square. The square is surrounded by approximately 205 plane trees that form a formal garden setting and frame the site.

The monument was created in 1995 by artist Czesław Dźwigaj, eight years after a historic papal visit to the city. In 1987, the Pope met with residents of West Pomerania, an event this site continues to honor today.

The monument bears the Pope's name and reflects his significance to Catholic communities across Poland. Visitors come here to remember the connection between the Church and this regional city.

The memorial site features paved pathways and wheelchair-accessible entrances available throughout the year. The space is easy to navigate and offers plenty of room for walking and spending time.

The square where the monument stands originated from a land donation by Martin Quistorp to the city in 1908. This history of generosity connects the modern memorial site to the early development of Szczecin.
