RTON Baranówka, Radio tower in Baranówka district, Rzeszów, Poland
RTON Baranówka is a concrete telecommunications tower in Rzeszów standing 64 meters tall at an elevation of 223 meters above sea level. The facility broadcasts television and radio signals across several channels to eastern Poland.
Construction began in 1971 and was completed in about 15 months following a design similar to Kraków's Krzemionki tower. The structure shaped Rzeszów's skyline for decades.
The broadcasting tower supplies television and radio programs to households and vehicles across the Podkarpackie region. The transmissions connect residents with news, entertainment, and local information from their area.
The tower is visible from outside and serves as a distinctive landmark in the Baranówka neighborhood. Visitors can view the structure from a distance but should not attempt to enter the operational facility.
The structure is part of a modernization wave in the 1970s when Poland built its infrastructure for mass media. This generation of broadcasting towers remains a visible reminder of that development phase today.
