The Książnica Podlaska library occupies a classical style building with symmetrical proportions, large windows, and traditional architectural elements in downtown Białystok.
Originally constructed as a masonic lodge, the building transformed into a public library during the 20th century and received cultural heritage status for its architectural value.
The library maintains extensive collections of regional literature, historical documents, and hosts regular literary meetings with contemporary Polish authors and poets.
Visitors can access the main reading rooms Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 6 PM, with specialized collections available upon advance reservation.
The library houses over 16,000 numismatic items and rare manuscripts documenting the multicultural heritage of the Podlasie region.
