Muzeum Volkswagena

Muzeum Volkswagena in Pępowo is an automobile museum displaying over 40 full-size vehicles, ranging from the classic Beetle to military Kübelwagen and early Transporter models. The collection also houses a separate display of 1,000 miniature cars in different scales that complement the main exhibition.

The museum grew from a private collection that started in the 1960s when the founders purchased their first Beetle and gradually expanded over several decades. It formally opened as a public gallery in 2008, transforming a personal passion into a professional exhibition space.

The collection reflects how Volkswagen vehicles became part of everyday life across Europe and shaped the way people traveled for generations. Walking through, you see how certain models became cultural symbols for their time and region.

The museum sits roughly 25 minutes from the coastal cities of Gdańsk, Sopot, and Gdynia, making it accessible as a day trip from those areas. It is advisable to check opening hours before visiting, as they vary seasonally throughout the year.
