Our Lady of Good Counsel Sanctuary in Sulistrowiczki, Roman Catholic sanctuary in Sulistrowiczki, Poland
Our Lady of Good Counsel Sanctuary is a wooden chapel built with a rare seven-sided shape resting on a granite foundation. Its windows are designed as Jerusalem and Roman crosses, filled with colored stained glass panels throughout the interior.
Construction began in August 1993 as a votive offering for the 46th International Eucharistic Congress and the millennium of Wroclaw diocese. This timing gave the chapel special meaning within the broader religious events of that period.
The name honors Mary as a protector and guide, which visitors experience through the artistic details inside. The stained glass incorporates protected plant species from the nearby nature reserve, connecting the sacred space to the local landscape.
The sanctuary is open year-round to visitors and offers regular worship services and religious ceremonies. It welcomes both local worshippers and couples seeking to marry in this location.
Inside the lantern dome are portraits of modern saints including Mother Teresa of Calcutta and John Paul II, displayed alongside friezes depicting biblical scenes. This arrangement creates a connection between contemporary spiritual figures and classical biblical imagery.
