Villa Rost in Bielsko-Biała

Villa Rost is a two-story brick residence on Laskowa Street featuring a naturalistic garden design and a private driveway approach. The building occupies the northwestern corner of its plot and now serves as a private hotel.

The house was built in 1890 for Adolf Erich Mänhardt, a manufacturer who ran a machine and equipment factory in Bielsko. This industrial period shaped the neighborhood's growth and attracted wealthy business owners who built prominent homes like this one.

The villa displays Gypsy Forest architectural features with Renaissance Revival window details, a rusticated ground floor, and carved wooden ornaments on the gables and railings. These design choices shape how the building looks and make it a good example of its era's style.

The building operates as a private hotel and can only be viewed from the outside as an occupied residence. It sits in the Olszówka Dolna neighborhood and is easily accessible on foot if you are visiting the residential area.

The house received the Modernization of the Year award in 2009 and was recognized by the General Monument Inspector for its preservation efforts. These awards show how the private owner has worked on maintaining its architectural heritage for future generations.
