Estádio do Bessa

The Estádio do Bessa XXI is a football stadium in Ramalde with four covered stands and a capacity of around 28,000 spectators. The natural grass pitch and modern facilities support professional matches and large events.

An original stadium stood at this site since 1911 and was later replaced through comprehensive renovation. Between 1998 and 2003, the facility underwent complete rebuilding to prepare for hosting major football competitions.

This is the home of Boavista FC, one of Portugal's oldest football clubs, where supporters gather to watch domestic and international matches together. The matches here are woven into local sports tradition and draw fans from across the region.

The stadium is easily accessible by metro, with a short walk from the nearest station to the entrance. Parking is available in the surrounding area for those arriving by car.

The stadium was remarkably rebuilt while in operation, with each stand demolished and reconstructed separately while matches continued to be played. This building approach allowed the facility to keep hosting games without stopping the club's seasons.
