Igreja de Santa Catarina is a Baroque church located in the Misericórdia neighborhood of Lisbon. The plain exterior contrasts with an interior lavishly decorated with gilded ornaments, intricate woodwork, and stucco ceilings.

A first church dedicated to Saint Catherine was built on the Alto de Santa Catarina at the order of Queen Catherine. It was badly damaged in the 1755 earthquake, services resumed there from 1757, and it was destroyed by fire in 1835. Since then the parish has used the church of the former Convento dos Religiosos de São Paulo da Serra de Ossa on the Calçada do Combro, built in the 17th century and rebuilt after 1755 with works completed in 1763.

The church became the parish church of Santa Catarina in 1835, taking its name from an earlier church on the Alto de Santa Catarina that was destroyed by fire that year. The organ, built in the early 18th century, survived the 1755 earthquake and was restored in 2018 by Dinarte Machado.

The church stands on the Calçada do Combro in the Misericórdia parish, a short walk from the Bica funicular and the Cais do Sodré station. The entrance is on the street side, at the top of a short flight of steps. The interior is open during the day; the 18th-century organ restored in 2018 stands on the upper choir, best seen from the nave.

A monumental organ framed by gilded carved wood sits prominently in the interior and commands attention. The Rococo stucco ceiling above is finely detailed and often goes unnoticed by visitors focused on the space below.
