Teatro Maria Matos, Municipal theatre in Alvalade, Portugal.

Teatro Maria Matos occupies a fifteen-story building that incorporates a theatre, hotel, and cinema space in the Alvalade district of Lisbon.

The theatre, designed by architect Fernando Ramalho, opened its doors on October 22, 1969, with a performance of 'Tombo no Inferno' by Aquilino Ribeiro.

The venue hosts numerous theatrical productions, dance performances, and film festivals throughout the year, including the annual Festa do Cinema Italiano.

Located at Avenida Frei Miguel Contreiras 52, the theatre contains 447 seats and maintains regular cultural programming under private management since 2018.

The building underwent extensive renovations in 2004, resulting in enhanced acoustics, lighting systems, and accessibility features for modern performances.
