Vila Maior is a small rural settlement in the municipality of Santa Maria da Feira in northern Portugal. The locality contains residential neighborhoods arranged across a compact area with traditional village characteristics.
Vila Maior was originally an independent locality until administrative reorganization in the region. In 2013 the settlement merged with neighboring areas to form the larger parish of Canedo, Vale e Vila Maior.
The population of 1,438 residents maintains connections with Porto metropolitan area while preserving the characteristics of a small Portuguese community.
The settlement is well connected by local roads to the center of Santa Maria da Feira. Visitors should know this is a small village with limited tourist facilities and services.
