Castro of Monte Mozinho

The fortified settlement covers 20 hectares of land and contains three defensive wall lines that follow the natural terrain of the mountain.

The settlement was established in the first century AD and remained inhabited until the fifth century, showing transitions between Celtic and Roman periods.

The excavated structures reveal both circular Celtic houses with courtyards and larger rectangular Roman buildings, demonstrating the fusion of architectural styles.

The site includes an Interpretive Center opened in 2004 that displays informational panels and artifacts discovered during archaeological excavations.

An eight-meter deep water well from the fourth century maintains traces of its original wooden extraction mechanism used for household needs.
