Mosteiro de Cete

The monastery presents a single nave church with a wooden ceiling and a main chapel ending in a quarter-sphere configuration.

Founded in the 10th century by nobleman D. Gonçalo Oveques, the monastery underwent substantial reconstruction between the 13th and 14th centuries.

The monastery contains important limestone statues of Saint Peter, Saint Luzia, and Our Lady of Grace, along with 16th-century mural paintings.

The monastery offers guided tours for visitors interested in exploring its architectural features and religious heritage throughout the week.

The bell tower houses a funeral chapel with walls covered in 16th-century Mudejar tiles, containing the tomb of D. Gonçalo Oveques.
