Cabo Sardão Lighthouse, Maritime navigation lighthouse near Cavaleiro, Portugal.
The square white masonry tower rises 17 meters high from a one-story keeper's house, featuring a red cylindrical lantern at its summit.
The lighthouse, initially proposed in 1883, began operations in 1915 after a dedicated Lighthouse Commission formed to oversee its construction in 1902.
The structure represents Portuguese maritime engineering from the early 20th century, with its tower positioned on the land side of the annex.
Visitors can join guided tours of the lighthouse every Wednesday at 14:00, 15:00, and 16:00, experiencing the third-order Fresnel lens system.
The lighthouse tower stands on the inland side of its annex building, contrary to standard lighthouse design, suggesting a possible 180-degree plan rotation.
