Fortim de Montedor, Military fort in Carreço, Portugal.
The Montedor Fort presents a star-shaped layout with four unequal bastions, featuring a curved seaside face and a concave land side entrance.
The fort was built during the second half of the 17th century to protect the Portuguese coast following the War of Restoration between Portugal and Spain.
The structure received official recognition as Property of Public Interest through Decree No. 47,508, published on January 24, 1967.
The fort stands alongside two similar structures, Fort of Cão and Lagarteira Fort, forming a strategic defense network along the Atlantic coast of Alto Minho.
The interior features service quarters and a central corridor functioning as a courtyard, demonstrating the military architectural principles of the period.
