Palacete Belmarço

Palacete Belmarço is an early 20th-century building in Faro featuring a rectangular layout, two floors, and a corner turret. Its decorated facades and architectural details shape the appearance of Largo Dom Marcelino Franco.

The building was completed in 1917 for a merchant who grew wealthy through coffee and grain trade. Its construction reflects the economic prosperity that commerce brought to Faro in the early 20th century.

The interior staircase displays Art Nouveau ironwork and decorative tile panels showing Portuguese monuments. These artistic elements reflect the craftsmanship valued by the wealthy merchant class of that era.

The building is located at Largo Dom Marcelino Franco in central Faro and is easy to reach on foot. Parking is available nearby, and the site is accessible from most parts of the city.

The palace underwent an extensive renovation costing millions of euros that carefully preserved its original decorative elements. This costly restoration allowed craftwork and wooden structures to be maintained for future visitors.
