Figueirinha Beach

Figueirinha Beach stretches along the Arrábida Mountain coastline with fine sand that transforms into a natural sandbank during low tide. The water remains shallow and calm, making it suitable for wading and paddling.

The beach gained regional importance after the creation of the Arrábida Natural Park, which protects the surrounding mountain range and coastline. This conservation effort has shaped how the area is managed today.

Families gather in the wooded areas near the small brook to enjoy traditional afternoon picnics, continuing a long-established Portuguese coastal custom.

When the tide goes out, an extended sandbank forms a natural lagoon in front of the main beach, creating favorable conditions for water sports. This formation is rarely found along other nearby stretches of coastline.
