Casa da Torre

Casa da Torre is a manor house featuring a distinctive three-story square tower crowned with a pyramidal pinnacle, accompanied by a rectangular structure with a noble floor and iron balconies. The entire complex includes extensive gardens and several outbuildings such as stables situated across from the main entrance.

Construction of this residential estate began in 1743 under the direction of Maria Josefa de Magalhães Feio de Azevedo and her family. The Viscountess of Torre later transferred the property to the Society of Jesus, marking a shift in how the estate was used.

The property takes its name from the distinctive tower that defines the estate. It was built as a residence for an aristocratic family and reflects their social standing through its architectural details.
