Santuário de Nossa Senhora do Alívio

Santuário de Nossa Senhora do Alívio is a pilgrimage church located in Soutelo on elevated ground within Vila Verde municipality. The complex features white-walled buildings arranged around the main worship space, forming a compound dedicated to pilgrimage.

Father Francisco Xavier Leite Fragoas began construction of this sanctuary in 1794 following approval from the Archbishop of Braga. The foundation emerged from a personal vow made after his recovery from serious illness.
