The Qatar National Library occupies 42,000 square meters with a diamond-shaped structure featuring glass walls and elevated corners creating natural entrances.

The library opened in 2018 as part of Qatar Foundation's Education City project, which started in 1995 to establish an educational hub.

The Heritage Library section contains 2,400 manuscripts and scientific works from the fifteenth to seventeenth centuries related to Arab-Islamic civilization.

The facility includes computer rooms, study areas, a children's section, and automated systems that process over one million books and digital resources.

The underground Heritage Library maintains specialized laboratories for conservation and digitization of historical documents in climate-controlled display cases.
