Banana Island

Banana Island is a private resort on a crescent-shaped artificial landmass covering roughly 20 hectares in the Persian Gulf, complete with sandy beaches and multiple swimming pools dotting its shores. The property includes accommodations, dining venues, and recreation facilities for both day visitors and overnight guests.

The project was developed by Power International Holding and completed in 2015 as part of Qatar's effort to expand its leisure offerings. The artificial island emerged as the country worked to broaden its tourism infrastructure and recreational options.

The resort blends Arabian architectural style with contemporary comforts, offering dining areas where guests experience regional cuisine and traditional social spaces for gathering. The design reflects values that matter both on the property and throughout the surrounding region.

The resort is accessible by ferry from Doha's main terminal, with the journey taking roughly 20 minutes and services running regularly throughout the day. It is wise to allow time for travel and confirm current service schedules before visiting.

The property includes villas built over the water, an indoor bowling facility, and an artificial wave pool for surfing. These amenities offer types of recreation not typically found on an island in this part of the world.
