The church displays stone columns, arched windows, and decorative elements following the Romanian Brâncovenesc style, combining Byzantine and Renaissance features.
Greek monk Ioanichie Stratonikeas established the monastery in 1724 during the reign of Nicolae Mavrocordat, constructing it next to his inn.
