The History and Archaeology Museum occupies a national monument building on Mihai Eminescu Street, displaying artifacts from prehistoric to modern times.
Constantin Matasă established this institution in 1934 as the first archaeological museum in the Moldavia region of Romania.
The museum contains exceptional Cucuteni culture collections, including the Hora de la Frumușica artifact and numerous Southeast European neo-eneolithic pieces.
The facility opens daily except Mondays, with winter hours from 9 AM to 5 PM and summer hours from 10 AM to 6 PM.
The institution houses gold pots from Radeni and silver vessels from Upper Muscel as part of the National Thesaurus collection.
