Salbek Castle, Historic castle in Petriș, Romania.
Salbek Castle is a manor house with neoclassical architecture distinguished by symmetrical colonnades and an expansive front facade. The building stands within a park setting with mature trees and is currently under private ownership.
The building was constructed between 1800 and 1850 and later served as a sanatorium for respiratory diseases. It returned to its original owners in 2009 and has since entered a new chapter in its history.
The two ancient oak trees on the grounds once provided shelter for local court proceedings in the centuries past. These trees remain standing today as living reminders of the property's historical role in community life.
The property is located on Avram Iancu Street in Petriș and can be viewed from outside, with the park area and old trees accessible for walking. Visitors should keep in mind the site is privately owned and future plans include renovation and new uses.
The two oak trees on the grounds are over 200 years old and have witnessed numerous changes in the region. Throughout their long existence they provided shelter for judicial proceedings well into the 1800s.
