The Municipal Theatre Maior Gheorghe Pastia features Beaux-Arts architecture with ornate decorations and a symmetrical facade in the center of Focșani.
The theatre construction started in 1909 following the donation of 570,000 lei by Major Gheorghe Pastia and opened its doors on November 22, 1913.
The theatre hosts classical music concerts, opera performances, ballet shows, and theatrical productions throughout the year in its renovated performance hall.
The venue maintains regular performance schedules with tickets available at the box office, located at the main entrance of the building.
The theatre closed in 1987 due to earthquake damage and reopened in 2004 after extensive restoration work funded by local authorities.
