Teleki Castle, Baroque castle in Gornești, Romania
The U-shaped structure displays a grand salon on the upper floor with original plasterwork, Rococo porcelain stoves, and three decorative chandeliers.
Construction of the castle began in 1772 under the supervision of architect Schmidt Pál, who directed the project remotely and never visited Transylvania.
The castle represents the architectural preferences of the Teleki family, who integrated design elements from their properties in Pest County into this Transylvanian residence.
The castle is currently undergoing renovations funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan to enhance cultural tourism and social development.
The building process spanned three generations of the Teleki family, with construction continuing until 1803 through different architects and craftsmen.
