Avram Iancu Senior High School

Avram Iancu Senior High School is an educational institution and protected historic building in Brad constructed between 1913 and 1923, located at Str. Liceului 18. The substantial structure displays architectural features of that era and continues to function as an active school serving the local community.

The school was founded in 1869 as a Greek Orthodox gymnasium under Archpriest Moise Lazăr and served the local population with education. After Transylvania united with Romania, it was transformed into a modern high school and eventually received its current name.

The school carries the name of Romanian freedom fighter Avram Iancu, making it a symbol of national history in the local educational life. It represents a place where generations of students have connected with their regional identity and heritage.
