Studenica monastery, Orthodox monastery in Raška District, Serbia.
The monastery complex features three marble churches within fortified walls, including the central Church of the Virgin and the King's Church with stone carvings.
Stefan Nemanja, founder of medieval Serbia, established the monastery in 1190 and later became a monk there under the name Simeon until his death.
The monastery walls display an extensive collection of Byzantine frescoes from the 13th and 14th centuries, depicting biblical narratives and Serbian saints.
The monastery operates daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and provides limited wheelchair access through designated pathways within the complex.
The monastery produced the Studenica Typicon, the first Serbian literature book, and contains white marble sarcophagi of early Serbian rulers.
