The building was completed in 1927 as one of architect Aleksandar Deroko's initial projects upon returning from Paris to Belgrade. It represents his early influence on the city's architectural development.
The facade displays ornate arabesque reliefs featuring centaurs and other motifs, created by sculptor Živojin Lukić. These artistic elements give the building a distinctive visual identity that goes beyond its basic residential purpose.
