Officers' Club, Military social venue in Belgrade, Serbia
The Officers' Club is a building in Belgrade featuring a corner facade with a circular tower base and a peaked dome crowning the circular entrance vestibule. Double-pane windows are connected by common arches, and the main entrance is accessed from Resavska Street after post-war modifications.
Built in 1895 under King Aleksandar Obrenovic, this building originally served as a gathering place for Royal Serbian Army officers. Following wartime damage, it underwent reconstruction between 1969 and 1971, when the entrance was relocated to its current position.
The building now operates as a Students Cultural Centre where exhibitions, performances, and educational activities take place regularly. Young people gather here to explore and share contemporary art and cultural expressions.
The main entrance faces Resavska Street, making it easy to locate and access. Since it operates as an active cultural centre, checking the schedule beforehand helps you plan a visit that aligns with ongoing events.
The building merges late Romantic and early Renaissance architectural styles in a combination rarely seen elsewhere in Belgrade. This blend of historical design approaches reflects the artistic influences present when it was constructed.
