Church of the Holy Emperor Uroš

The Church of the Holy Emperor Uros is a brick building with traditional Orthodox elements, including a central dome and several narrow windows along its exterior walls. The structure shares a courtyard with an adjacent mosque in the heart of the city.

The building was constructed between 1928 and 1931 during the Kingdom of Yugoslavia era and served as a place of worship for the Serbian Orthodox community. It remains one of the few churches from this period that survived in the city.

The church bears the name of a medieval Serbian ruler and stands in central Ferizaj next to a mosque. This proximity of two places of worship from different faiths shapes the everyday character of the area.

The building is centrally located in Ferizaj and easily accessible on foot, though it sits on private or fenced grounds. Access may be limited depending on current conditions, so checking ahead is advisable.

The structure has endured several fires and damage since 1999 but was designated as a Cultural Monument of Exceptional Importance to protect it. Its resilience stands as a symbol of the region's complex history.
