Gatchina Palace, Imperial palace in Gatchina, Russia
The palace features 600 rooms arranged across three floors, with a white limestone facade and architectural elements influenced by medieval English castles.
Architect Antonio Rinaldi constructed the palace between 1766 and 1781 for Count Grigory Orlov, who received the estate from Catherine the Great.
The palace museum exhibits period furniture, paintings, porcelain collections, and weapons that belonged to Russian emperors from different historical periods.
Visitors can explore the State Rooms, throne room, marble dining room, and various halls through guided tours available in multiple languages.
The underground tunnel system beneath the palace connects multiple buildings and includes a grotto with a secret passage leading to Lake Serebryany.
