The Sikhote-Alin mountain range extends 900 kilometers northeast of Vladivostok, featuring diverse geological formations and peaks reaching 2090 meters in elevation.
In 1947, the Sikhote-Alin area experienced one of the largest recorded meteorite showers, creating multiple impact craters across the mountainous terrain.
The indigenous Nanai, Udege, and Orochi peoples maintain their traditional ways of life within these mountains, where the name originates from Manchurian language.
Access to the central areas of Sikhote-Alin requires guided ranger accompaniment, and visitors must follow specific protocols when encountering wildlife, particularly tigers.
The mountain range houses both northern taiga species like reindeer and southern species such as Amur tigers, creating an exceptional mix of wildlife populations.
