Novomoskovsk, Industrial center in Tula Oblast, Russia
Novomoskovsk is a city in the eastern part of Tula Oblast in central Russia, combining residential areas and production facilities. The urban territory spans approximately 888 square kilometers and sits at an elevation of around 220 meters above sea level.
The settlement began in 1929 as the village of Bobriki and received the name Stalinogorsk in 1934. Following Stalin's death, the city was renamed Novomoskovsk in 1961.
The local chemical technology institute runs laboratories and lecture halls where students from the region complete their training. The institution contributes to technical education in Tula Oblast and connects research with applied industry.
The city is reached through the regional bus network and a suburban railway that connects residential and industrial zones. Public transport runs regularly and links the different districts with each other.
German firms such as Ence GmbH and Knauf Gips operate production sites in the city, as does Procter & Gamble with a detergent factory. These international companies have established themselves alongside local chemical plants.
