Kirsanov

Kirsanov is a town in Tambov Oblast where the Vorona and Pursovka rivers meet, forming a focal point in the region. The settlement serves as the administrative center for the surrounding district and contains various municipal facilities.

The settlement began in 1702 and took its name from an early resident, Kirsan Zubakin, receiving formal town status later in the 1700s. The arrival of the railway in 1875 transformed it into a significant regional hub for trade and travel.
