Beskudnikovsky District, Administrative district in Northern Moscow, Russia
Beskudnikovsky District sits about 12 kilometers north of Moscow's center as part of the Northern Administrative Okrug. The area is mainly residential with apartment blocks, small commercial zones, and parks connected by wide streets.
The area developed from the villages of Beskudnikovo and Verchnie Lichobory, first documented in 1584. A freight railway station built here in 1900 later became Russia's largest cargo terminal.
The population growth from 8,000 to 16,000 residents in the 1950s transformed the district from a workers settlement into a residential neighborhood.
The district connects to Moscow Metro stations Petrovsko-Razumovskoye, River Station, and Altufyevo by surface transport in about 40 minutes travel time. The area is walkable and best explored at a steady pace to discover local shops and parks.
In 1900, the district established a freight railway station that developed into the largest cargo terminal in the entire Russian Federation.
