Angarskye prudy, Urban park with ponds in northern Moscow, Russia
Angarskye Prudy is a large urban park in northern Moscow featuring two ponds set within a landscape of lime trees and fruit orchards. The grounds include tennis courts, volleyball and basketball fields, plus a skating rink in winter and boat rentals in summer.
The site was originally called Korovinskiye Ponds after the Spirkov stream before becoming incorporated into Moscow in 1960. Major renovations in 1996 and 2012 substantially modernized the park's layout and infrastructure.
The park hosts regular craft markets where visitors find locally made goods and traditional Russian foods available for purchase. An outdoor theater stages performances that shape the community's social rhythm.
The park grounds are easy to navigate for various activities, with facilities that change with the seasons, offering ice skating in winter and boating in summer. Visitors should expect recreational options to vary based on seasonal conditions and weather.
Two artificial islands were added to the larger pond during the 2012 renovation, offering fresh perspectives when exploring the water. Old fruit trees from the original orchard still grow throughout the park and bear fruit each autumn.
