Church of Theotokos Orans in Aksinyino

The Church of Theotokos Orans in Aksinyino is an Eastern Orthodox church building featuring Russian Revival architecture with detailed ornamentation on Festivalnaya Street. The structure displays characteristic elements of this style, with decorative features reflecting Russian architectural traditions.

Mikhail Golitsyn founded the church in 1708, and architect Alexander Weidenbaum redesigned it between 1883 and 1884 in Byzantine Revival style. This reconstruction shaped the building's appearance as seen today.

The church serves the local community as a center for Eastern Orthodox worship and religious celebrations. Residents gather here to practice their faith and participate in regular services and spiritual events.

The church is located at Festivalnaya Street 6, Building 1, in the Levoberezhny District in northern Moscow. It stands clearly visible from the street and is straightforward to reach on foot.

The church remained operational throughout the Soviet period, which was uncommon for religious institutions at that time. Another Orthodox church dedicated to the Our Lady of the Sign icon stands on the same street.
