The Summer Palace stands as a two-story stone structure with four-slope roofing at the northeastern corner of the Summer Garden, bordered by three waterways.
Architect Domenico Trezzini designed this first palace of Saint Petersburg between 1710 and 1714 under the direction of Peter the Great.
The palace interior displays Dutch tiles, carved oak panels, and stucco-decorated fireplaces that represent the architectural preferences of early 18th-century Russian nobility.
The museum opens from June through October, operating daily between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM with an entrance fee of 300 rubles for international visitors.
The palace features copper drainage systems shaped like dragons and includes an original workshop, jail cell, and grand hall across its two main floors.
