First Engineer Bridge, Stone bridge in central Saint Petersburg, Russia

The First Engineer Bridge spans the Winter Canal with a single arch, connecting Millionnaya Street near the Winter Palace complex.

Built in 1768 at a different location, the bridge was moved and reconstructed at its current position over the Winter Canal in 1784.

The bridge features granite facades, solid parapets, and decorative elements that represent the architectural style of 18th-century Saint Petersburg.

Measuring 19.4 meters in length and 21.6 meters in width, the bridge includes step descents that provide access to the canal embankment.

The structure incorporates stone-carved details from its original 18th-century construction, maintaining its historical appearance despite repairs in the 1950s.
